Successfully Market your Law Firm on the Internet with a Good Lawyer Website
Potential Clients are increasingly finding a Lawyer Online
Internet Marketing will give you the highest return on investment (ROI) (If done properly). If you still want to use other media, such as Yellow Pages, your internet presence can supplement your other advertising to build your client base. Potential clients are using the internet and search engines more often than ever.
A few years ago, in 2009, the New York Bar Association found that 65% of people looking for a lawyer start their search online. Given the increase in the spread of the internet, as well as mobile devices, that number is likely higher today. In 2011, Lexis found 76% of people seeking an attorney used online resources at some point in their search[1].
Don't be Average
A lot of people want to know what the average salary of a lawyer is. Or, what is an average marketing budget? Why set your goals so low as to be "average". I can tell you the average salary of a solo practitioner with less than 10 years’ experience is less than $150,000 a year. I can also tell you that as a lawyer I make more than $150,000 a year from clients who found my DWI practice through my websites.
It is absolutely impossible to give an average marketing budget as it will vary so much depending on your location and practice area. You should be less concerned with how much you spend, and more concerned with your ROI (return on investment). If you could spend $20,000 a year to make $100,000 would you do this? Of course you would. With a good internet marketing program, you should be able to make 200-500% of your investment back.
